MAAT News is a student-run newspaper founded at Florida International University in 2025, created to promote and broadcast the truth throughout the Miami area. The name MAAT draws came from an acronym that stands for our greatest ideal as a newspaper: Movement About Accuracy and Truth, because that is the basis of our ideals and principles. Our website will feature our own empirical research alongside links to credible news outlets that address similar topics. This interactive design encourages the audience to engage directly with our investigations and, through multiple sources, form their own informed conclusions. The central mission of MAAT News is to empower the public to understand the truth not only through our reporting but also by exploring diverse perspectives and evidence-based journalism.
